Mild-mannered, adoptable Ohio pit bull comes out of his shell with other dogs

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Pickles, a dog looking for a home at the Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center, is described as a “chill” pet who could plug in with any family.

The 1-year-old pit bull mix came to the shelter as a stray at the beginning of February. Since then, Behavior Coordinator Brandy Trott said he’s proven sociable enough that he became one of the shelter’s helper dogs. Pickles helps the staff test other dogs’ social skills to see if they could fit in a home with other pets.

“He seems to love everybody, so I think he’ll probably be fine with kids. He’s pretty well-mannered overall,” Trott said. “Takes treats super gentle, and is pretty gentle with toys too.”
