A Georgia man killed his older brother during an argument over body wash, police said.

The domestic dispute in Riverdale on Wednesday between Jaylan Joseph Jones, 24, and his 28-year-old brother started when the victim accused his younger sibling of “throwing away” his body wash, Clayton County police said.

Officers responded to their home early Wednesday for a report of a stabbing and found the victim, who has not been publicly identified, dead from several gunshot wounds.

A subsequent investigation revealed that the domestic dispute descended into a “deadly confrontation” between the two brothers, police said.

Jones later admitted during an interview with detectives that he fought with his sibling upstairs, prompting someone else inside the home to break up the scuffle. But the pair soon began fighting again, police said.

“Once separated the final time, the victim went downstairs while suspect Jaylan advised he went to his room, retrieved his gun, went downstairs and shot the victim multiple times,” police said in a statement Wednesday.

Jones then tried to get rid of the gun allegedly used to kill his brother following the fatal spat. He has been charged with malice murder and tampering with evidence, police said.

Video released by police showed a maskless Jones being taken into custody less than 24 hours after the shooting.

A woman who said she was related to Jones’ family said she was saddened and in “disbelief” over the slaying.

“Two brothers arguing over body wash,” Tiffany Purnell wrote on Facebook Thursday. “One ends up dead and the other in prison for the rest of his life. I know it’s deeper than body wash. But something as small as that triggered it causing all of this hurt and pain. Now their mom and family is hurting and trying to make sense of it all … They were her only two kids.”

Authorities declined to release the victim’s name Thursday since the slaying is a domestic violence-related incident, police told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Jones remained held without bond Friday at the Clayton County Jail, records show. It’s unclear if he’s hired an attorney who could speak on his behalf.
