Three Detroit teens shoot woman who scolded them for trying to open car doors
Three teens allegedly shot a woman in Michigan after she berated them for fiddling with car doors outside her house, police said.
Detroit police said they are looking for the three colored juvenile suspects who were involved in this non-fatal shooting that occurred on October 14.
The teens were in the 6200 block of Brush Street, about one mile east of the Detroit Police Department 3rd Precinct, police said.
The woman said she and her husband went to investigate when they heard an alarm a little before 12.40 am.
The woman, whose identity has not been revealed by the police, saw three boys checking car door handles in the area, Fox 2 Detroit reported.
She got into her car to follow and see where the boys were going, the police said.
She pulled over to a location where she spotted the suspects and scolded them for what they were doing.
That’s when one of the teens pulled out a gun from his backpack and fired two shots at her car, police said.
The woman was hit in the chest and her windshield was damaged, the outlet reported.
The police did not establish how badly the woman was injured.
The authorities shared details about the boys who are aged 12-14 along with surveillance photos of them.
The police said that one suspect was wearing a gray Nike sweatshirt with black pants and black Nike shoes. His face was covered with a black mask and he was carrying a black backpack with red eyes and shark teeth.
The second teen was also wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a colorful print.
He was wearing green pants and black shoes. The teen also had his face covered with a mask and was carrying a white backpack with a geometric pattern.
The third juvenile suspect had braided hair and was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black athletic shoes. He also carried a black backpack and a white face mask.
The police have urged anyone with information about the teens to inform the department or make an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
