Semi Blows Past School Bus With Kids Boarding — Only for Texas Cops to Find More Trouble Waiting

A truck driver was arrested in Krugerville, Texas, after police said a semi passed a school bus that had flashing red lights and an extended stop sign while children were actively boarding. Officers initiated a traffic stop after witnessing the school bus violation.

During the stop, Krugerville Police said the driver had no valid driver’s license of any kind and was also wanted on charges related to driving while intoxicated. The driver was cited for passing the school bus and taken into custody on the outstanding warrant.

The situation became more complicated when the owner of the semi arrived to retrieve the truck. Police said the owner held only a commercial learner’s permit, meaning he could not legally operate the vehicle alone. Officers then cited the owner for allegedly hiring and permitting an unlicensed driver to operate a commercial motor vehicle.

Police ultimately impounded the semi. The department said the incident underscored the importance of proper commercial licensing and compliance with school bus safety laws, particularly when children are involved. The allegations and citations remain subject to the legal process.
