Federal agents executed a search warrant at the home of former California congressman Eric Swalwell, seizing multiple electronic devices as part of an investigation connected to an alleged sexual‑assault incident, according to law‑enforcement sources familiar with the operation.

The warrant was carried out by the FBI’s Los Angeles field office, which has not publicly disclosed details about the underlying allegations or the scope of the inquiry. Swalwell, who served in Congress for more than a decade and became nationally known for his role on the House Intelligence Committee, has not been charged with any crime.

A spokesperson for Swalwell said he is cooperating fully with investigators and maintains that he has done nothing wrong. The spokesperson also criticized what they described as “politically motivated leaks” surrounding the case, arguing that the investigation should proceed without public speculation.

The FBI has declined to comment, citing the ongoing nature of the probe.

Swalwell, who left Congress after losing his seat in the 2024 election, has remained active in California politics and media. The search warrant marks the most serious legal scrutiny he has faced since earlier controversies involving his past interactions with a suspected Chinese intelligence operative — an issue he has repeatedly said was resolved years ago.
