Nolan Wells Case Takes Bizarre Turn With Federal Arrest and OnlyFans Feud

OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. — The mystery surrounding the death of 18-year-old Nolan Wells has taken another dramatic turn, producing a federal arrest, alleged threats against a judge and an increasingly public fight involving an OnlyFans model.

Wells was found dead on July 6, two days after reportedly visiting Horn Island off the Mississippi Gulf Coast with friends. As investigators continue trying to determine what happened to the college student, the people surrounding the case have become caught up in controversies of their own.

California Man Arrested Over Alleged Threat Against Judge

A 27-year-old California man was arrested Thursday after allegedly threatening Jackson County Chancery Judge Ashlee Cole, according to reporting by The Sacramento Bee.

Cole is the mother of one of Wells’ friends who was reportedly with him at Horn Island on July 4. The arrest does not appear to accuse the suspect of causing Wells’ death; instead, it concerns threatening communications allegedly sent as public attention around the case intensified.

Federal authorities identified the suspect as Sacramento resident Joseph Alfredo Vasquez Dumarce. He has been charged with interstate transmission of a threatening communication.

In early July, Cole posted screenshots on Facebook showing some of the disturbing messages she said she had received. One message, allegedly sent from the username “yaeyae962,” stated:

“There will be a package coming to your guys office in the next few days. It’s gonna blow you away when you see it. LoL. probably best to have the boys there to see as well. Blood. So much blood everywhere. Hard to clean. Especially from a boat. But yours will be quick I promise. I got all you info. Not even the FBI can stop this. Once that package is opened, the timer will start.”

Authorities reportedly believe Dumarce controlled that account.

If convicted, he could face as many as five years in federal prison, a fine of up to $250,000 and three years of supervised release.

OnlyFans Model Jumps Into the Growing Controversy

As if the case were not already complicated enough, an OnlyFans model has now become involved in a separate legal skirmish with one of Wells’ friends.

Model and social-media personality Kymbra Li has been posting her own theories about Wells’ death, drawing a response from attorney Russell Latino on behalf of Bart Edmiston Jr., one of Wells’ friends.

According to TMZ, Latino sent Li a five-page cease-and-desist letter accusing her of making defamatory social-media claims suggesting that Edmiston was somehow connected to Wells’ death.

Li, however, does not appear particularly intimidated by the legal warning.

Rather than quietly deleting her posts, she responded with jokes and memes—including one declaring that she had been “marked safe from getting sued by Russell Latino.” She has also continued discussing her theories online.

The dueling posts have turned an already sensitive death investigation into a social-media spectacle. But beneath the threats, memes and legal maneuvering, the central question remains unanswered: What happened to Nolan Wells during the final days of his life?
