A Miami woman is behind bars after police say she stabbed her friend with a pair of scissors during an Uber ride Monday night.

According to Miami-Dade authorities, 32‑year‑old Lynn Marie Zamora and a male friend had requested an Uber from the Best Western Plus Kendall Hotel & Suites. While riding in the back seat, Zamora allegedly attempted to drink a beer, prompting her friend to remind her that open alcohol is not permitted in Uber vehicles.

Investigators say Zamora became increasingly irritated after being told multiple times she could not drink inside the car. She then reportedly pulled scissors from her purse and stabbed her friend twice — once in the arm and once in the calf.

The Uber driver immediately stopped and called 911. The victim was taken to a local hospital, where his wounds were treated with staples. Police say the injuries were not life‑threatening.

Zamora was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. She is being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $7,500 bond. Court records show she is already on probation for prior assault and battery convictions, including a case involving a victim over 65.

During a Wednesday hearing, her attorney requested she be transferred to a hospital, but the judge ordered her to remain in custody. Zamora’s next court date is set for August 12.
