Fritos has an all-new flavor for summer—and I’m buying 10 bags

The snack aisle at the grocery store is constantly saturated with our everyday favorites—between potato chips and cheesy crackers—plus some seasonal launches—like new Lay’s for the Super Bowl or holiday-flavored popcorn in the winter. However, new snacks really seem to hit their peak every year in the summer.

Maybe it’s because potluck season means chips and dip are out in full force. Or maybe it’s simply that many of us are reaching for snacks to enjoy at the beach or pool, on a road trip, or in our vacation rental.

It doesn’t actually matter why we’re seeing more snacks on shelves, we’re just happy to have new Cheez-It crackers, Little Debbie snack cakes, and Oreos to munch on. And it already feels like this summer has had more snack launches than ever before, thanks to the huge America250 celebration.

It’s America’s 250th birthday and every brand from Cheerios to Betty Crocker and Coca-Cola is getting involved. A few weeks ago, Sam’s Club shoppers noticed new Doritos Ultimate Garlic Parm chips on shelves in special America250 packaging—and the cheesy, garlicky Doritos aren’t the only new flavor PepsiCo Foods is debuting for the country’s birthday.

Fritos Flavor Twists is launching an all-new Spicy Dill Pickle flavor.

Despite being a fan favorite, the twisty, crunchy Fritos Flavor Twists don’t often get the same star treatment as some other PepsiCo Foods products. We see multiple new Lay’s flavors every year, yet Fritos Flavor Twists are only available in Honey BBQ and the occasional one-off LTO.

Now, not only are we getting a new twisted corn chip flavor, but it’s one of PepsiCo Foods’ top-sellers. Following Cheetos’ Flamin Hot Dill Pickle in both Puffs and Crunchy and Miss Vickie’s Spicy Dill Pickle kettle-cooked chips, Fritos Flavor Twists are getting the same hot and zesty treatment.

The new Fritos Flavor Twists Spicy Dill Pickle chips offer tangy pickle flavor with a punch of heat—but not necessarily the same Flamin’ Hot flavor as the beloved Cheetos. The spiraled Spicy Dill Pickle-flavored Frito Flavor Twists will be sold in special America250 packaging alongside the new Ultimate Garlic Parm Doritos and Buffalo Wings Ruffles for a limited time this summer.

These new Frito Flavor Twists are hitting shelves in two sizes, including three- and nine-ounce bags. They’ll begin rolling out on June 1, with full nationwide availability beginning on June 15.

As a Frito Flavor Twists fan, I will be scouring the shelves for this new flavor. My fingers are crossed that we’ll see a club-sized bag at Costco, Sam’s, or BJ’s, too, so I won’t have to keep restocking during every grocery trip.
