Dad, whose wife expecting second child, gored to death on ‘street of hell’ during bull-running festival
A 33-year-old father expecting his second child has died after being attacked by a bull during a festival run in Spain, in a section locals grimly refer to as the “street of hell.”
Footage circulating online captures the moment the bull lifted Santiago Barrero San Roman into the air before repeatedly goring him during the San Marcos festival in Jaen. The animal continued its assault as it forced him against a barrier on Calle Palomares, an area known for especially dangerous runs.

Despite efforts from people nearby, the situation quickly spiraled. Several individuals pulled on a rope tied to the bull’s horns in an attempt to regain control, while others stayed back behind a temporary fence. The bull, however, kept attacking as San Roman remained trapped.
He suffered critical injuries to his abdomen, chest, and groin. He was taken to a hospital but later died from his wounds, according to local reports.
San Roman, who came from a family involved in cattle breeding, is survived by his young daughter and his wife Vanesa, who is pregnant with their second child, another girl. In a message shared online, his wife expressed deep grief, describing him as the most important person in her life and saying she will carry his memory with her always.

His death comes just days after another serious goring incident involving well known matador Morante de la Puebla, who was injured during a performance at a crowded arena in Seville.
