A growing rift between Tucker Carlson and President Donald Trump has taken a sharper turn, with Carlson now publicly expressing regret over his past support. According to Mediaite, the conservative commentator used a recent episode of his show to admit he may have unintentionally misled his audience.
During a conversation with his brother, Buckley Carlson—who previously worked as a speechwriter for Trump—Carlson acknowledged a sense of responsibility. He said he felt compelled to apologize, emphasizing that any misinformation was not deliberate, but still something that would weigh on him for a long time.
Carlson is among several prominent conservative voices who have become increasingly critical of Trump in recent months. Much of that criticism has centered on issues such as tensions with Iran and how matters related to Jeffrey Epstein have been handled.
The apology follows a series of sharp remarks from Trump, who recently criticized Carlson on Truth Social, calling him unintelligent and overrated, according to The Guardian. Trump also directed similar criticism at other conservative figures, including Megyn Kelly.
The dispute has also had personal consequences. Carlson’s son, also named Buckley Carlson, stepped down from his role as deputy press secretary to Vice President JD Vance shortly after Trump’s public comments about his father.
