A 75-year-old woman in Brooklyn was seriously hurt earlier this week after confronting two dog walkers about not cleaning up after their pets, a confrontation that escalated into a violent assault captured on a Ring camera.

The incident happened around 9 a.m. on Monday on President Street near Troy Avenue in Crown Heights, according to footage reviewed by The Post. The woman, identified as Linda Scott, was attacked outside her home after raising concerns about dog waste in the area.

Video shows one of the women repeatedly striking Scott and forcing her to the ground on her front lawn. The assault continued even after she fell, before a nearby neighbor intervened and stepped in to stop it.

Linda Scott, 75, was repeatedly punched in the face and knocked onto her front lawn by one of the dog-walkers just after 9 a.m. Monday, according to Ring camera footage obtained by The Post.

That neighbor, a 37-year-old Navy veteran who identified himself as Mr. Barnett, said he had just returned from the gym and was sitting in his car when he noticed a heated argument unfolding outside Scott’s residence. He described it as a dispute that quickly turned physical when one of the women moved toward Scott and began attacking her. He got out of his car, pulled the attacker away, and worked to separate everyone while also trying to control the situation as the dogs ran loose.

Barnett said the situation briefly flared up again when Scott’s son arrived, but he focused on keeping the scene under control and getting people off the property. He later said Scott is well known in the neighborhood and described her as a long-time community resident. While others might call his actions heroic, he said he simply saw it as stepping in to prevent further harm and doing what he felt was right.

Before the assault, there had been a dispute involving accusations that Scott had thrown ammonia on a dog. Scott acknowledged she had used ammonia on a nearby vacant lot where dog waste is often left, but her family said it was intended as a cleaning measure and not directed at animals or people.

Scott was taken to One Brooklyn Health–Interfaith Medical Center, where she was listed in stable condition. Her son, Matthew Scott, said she should never have been subjected to violence and insisted she was not trying to harm anyone.

As of Friday, police said the suspect involved in the attack had not yet been arrested.
