Alex Jones Goes There on Trump: ‘How Do We 25th Amendment His Ass?’
Conspiracy theorist and Trump supporter Alex Jones suggested invoking the 25th Amendment as a method to remove President Donald Trump from office.
Throughout both of Trump’s terms, critics have occasionally raised the 25th Amendment as a potential tool for removing him. This constitutional measure, which has never been enacted, would require the vice president and a majority of Trump’s cabinet to formally declare him unable to perform his duties, allowing Vice President JD Vance to assume the role of acting president. Section 4 of the amendment explains the process:
“Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.”
In practical terms, this means Vance could only step in if Trump were incapacitated, similar to President Woodrow Wilson, who suffered a severe stroke during his second term.
On Monday, during his show, Jones asked legal commentator Robert Barnes, “How do we 25th Amendment his ass?”

Barnes responded, “You’d have to confront Trump in a way that makes it clear he’s dealing with a serious health issue, and then Vance could take over. It has to be something extreme. That’s how serious it is.”
Jones noted that Barnes had never previously advocated for what amounted to an internal removal of a sitting president.
Barnes emphasized the stakes, citing Trump’s recent warning to Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz or face attacks on its power plants and civilian infrastructure. “He’s threatening a situation that could have catastrophic consequences for Iran. If he carries it out, it could destabilize the entire world,” Barnes said.
Earlier last week, Jones had also suggested that it might be time to “cut bait on Trump,” claiming the president “is in free fall.”
