A video captured at LaGuardia Airport showing ICE agents laughing while being confronted by a left-wing activist has gained widespread attention on social media.
The footage, which began circulating widely on X Friday afternoon, shows ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations officers in tactical vests walking through the terminal. The activist approaches them, shouting accusations.
“You guys are the foot soldiers of a fascist regime, right? Is that not what it is?” the man yells repeatedly. The agents respond with grins and eventually break into laughter.
“Is that funny? Is that funny?” the activist presses, but the agents continue walking, holding back their amusement. The activist initially shared the video on Instagram, claiming he was “speaking truth to power” and criticizing the agents for laughing.

“‘Speak truth to power,’ they say. So I did. Confronted a fascist at LaGuardia today. His response? A smirk. This is what we’re up against, but we won’t stay silent,” he captioned the post on the No Kings USA Instagram account.
The encounter comes just days after President Trump’s administration sent hundreds of ICE officers to multiple U.S. airports—including LaGuardia, JFK, Newark, Atlanta, and Houston—to assist with Transportation Security Administration operations. The deployment began Monday during a partial government shutdown, which left many TSA employees unpaid and caused staffing shortages, long security lines, and resignations.
ICE agents were tasked with crowd control, logistics, and other airport operations to keep travelers moving smoothly amid the funding deadlock in Congress.
Neither ICE nor the Department of Homeland Security has commented specifically on the confrontation, though the agencies have stressed that their personnel are focused on maintaining safe and efficient travel during the shutdown.
