An American Airlines flight attendant has gone missing during a stopover in Colombia, with authorities investigating the possibility that he was drugged, according to ABC News. Eric Fernando Gutiérrez Molina arrived in Medellín on March 21 on a flight from Miami. He was last seen early Sunday after leaving a nightclub in the El Poblado district with a man and a woman, city security officials reported.
Colombian investigators are exploring the potential drugging as they continue searching for Gutiérrez Molina. American Airlines said it is cooperating with local authorities and providing support to the family. The U.S. State Department confirmed it is following the case closely and is prepared to offer consular assistance if needed.
The 32-year-old’s longtime partner told CBS News that Gutiérrez Molina went out with a fellow flight attendant. She reportedly became disoriented and could not recall parts of the evening. “We won’t share specifics about what happened to her, but she was also affected by whatever Fernando is experiencing,” the partner said. “Although disoriented, she was able to return safely to the layover hotel.”
