Serial grave robber throws bucket of human bones at FBI field office

A man in Texas is facing serious criminal charges after allegedly throwing human remains over the fence of an FBI office while recording the act on video.

Michael Chadwick Fry, 41, from Bartonville, Texas, reportedly took the remains from a mausoleum and claimed he wanted to “summon” federal agents, according to the Bartonville Police Department.

Fry is charged with two counts of abuse of a corpse and one count of tampering with evidence with the intent to impair a human corpse. Authorities said the situation came to light after Fry’s mother called police on Monday, reporting that he had asked her for money to rent a U-Haul because he “had a body that needed to be moved.” She said Fry became angry during their conversation and left before officers arrived.

Investigators later received information from FBI agents indicating that Fry had thrown a bucket of human bones over the fence at the FBI Dallas Field Office.

Fry documented the act in a video posted on YouTube titled, “We send Elizabeth over the FBI fence to summon them by force.” In the footage, he is seen speaking with a person outside the FBI office, questioning the status of an investigation into what he described as incidents involving his “dead family and friends.” The video then shows him removing a bucket of remains from his car trunk and tossing it over the fence. As he drove away, he stated, “There’s more videos coming. We’re going to take bones all over the place. I got more.”

Authorities said Fry had previously stolen an urn from a cemetery in Oklahoma City in February and had also entered a mausoleum in Denton, Texas. Police found that he had searched for three additional cemeteries in Texas and Oklahoma using GPS in his mother’s car. He referred to the remains in the bucket as “Elizabeth Virginia Lyon,” according to court documents. DNA tests are being conducted to identify the bones.

Fry has an extensive criminal history. In 2018, he drove into the KDFW studios in downtown Dallas, leaving a bright orange duffel bag that prompted a bomb squad response. He reportedly acted out after police had shot a friend.

He is currently being held in the Denton County Jail on $30,000 bond.
