Florida woman mauled by 7 dogs in front of sex offender’s home
A Florida woman was seriously injured after being attacked by seven dogs outside a home in Dade City, according to witnesses and authorities.
The woman, who survived the attack, was knocked to the ground and mauled by the dogs while lying face down outside the residence of Edward Hayes on Fiesta Drive, neighbor Lourdes Estrada told Fox 13.
“It was terrifying. I was shocked and freaked out,” Estrada said. “I had never seen anything like that before.”
Estrada said she called 911 as the violent attack unfolded. Hayes reportedly tried to pull the dogs away from the victim but was unable to stop them.
Pasco County Fire Rescue transported the woman from the scene by helicopter at around 11 a.m. She was reported to be in critical condition.

According to a source familiar with the incident, the woman had approached the home to speak with Hayes when the dogs rushed out and attacked her.
Authorities said all seven dogs were taken into custody by Pasco County Animal Services. Officials have not yet confirmed the breeds of the animals.
Several neighbors told Fox 13 that dogs at the property had behaved aggressively before and that concerns had previously been reported to law enforcement.

As of Saturday afternoon, the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office said no criminal charges had been filed in connection with the attack.
Public records show Hayes was convicted in 2000 of lewd or lascivious exhibition involving a victim under the age of 16 and is listed on Florida’s sex offender registry.
According to the News Herald, Hayes’ residence is about 2.1 miles from Pasco Middle School.
Hayes and Pasco County Animal Services did not immediately respond to requests for comment. A spokesperson for Pasco County Fire Rescue said additional details could not be released while the investigation remains ongoing.
