UK police say 4 men arrested on suspicion of aiding Iran by spying on Jewish community
London police announced Friday that four men have been arrested on suspicion of helping Iran conduct espionage targeting the Jewish community.
In a statement, the Metropolitan Police said the suspects — one Iranian national and three men with dual British-Iranian citizenship — were detained on suspicion of assisting a foreign intelligence service.
The arrests took place shortly after 1 a.m. at several locations in and around north London. Investigators believe the suspects may have been gathering information on specific individuals and sites. Police said the men are 22, 40, 52, and 55 years old. Searches remain underway at the addresses where they were arrested as well as other nearby properties.
Authorities also arrested six additional men on suspicion of assisting an offender. They have also been taken into custody.

Commander Helen Flanagan, who oversees counterterrorism policing in London, said police understand that the situation may raise concerns, particularly within the Jewish community.
“We understand the public may be concerned, in particular the Jewish community, and as always, I would ask them to remain vigilant and if they see or hear anything that concerns them, then to contact us,” Flanagan said.
The arrests come as the United States and Israel continue military strikes against Iran. Iran has responded with retaliatory attacks targeting Israel, U.S. bases, and other locations across the region.

Britain is not participating in offensive operations but is helping support regional defense efforts.
