Investigators in Nancy Guthrie case asking neighbors about internet issues

“Today” anchor Savannah Guthrie made an emotional return to Studio 1A on Thursday — her first time on set since her mother disappeared more than a month ago.

Nancy Guthrie, 84, vanished from her Tucson, Arizona, home overnight on February 1 after being dropped off from a family dinner. She did not show up for church the next morning.

Investigators have recently revisited Nancy’s neighbors to ask whether they experienced any internet or connectivity issues on the night she went missing. Officials from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department and the FBI have canvassed the Catalina Foothills area, speaking to neighbors about potential Wi-Fi disruptions. Some reported problems on the night of January 31, while others said they were asleep at the time.

Sheriff Chris Nanos told NBC News that authorities explored whether a suspect might have used a Wi-Fi jammer during Nancy’s disappearance. “I’ve not looked at that closely, but my team has examined every angle with the FBI,” he said.

Savannah Guthrie, 54, has offered a $1,000,000 reward for information leading to her mother’s whereabouts.
