Scraggly creep caught climbing into LA family’s apartment through window while they slept
A Los Angeles family experienced an unsettling intrusion earlier this week when a stranger entered their apartment, captured on security cameras.
The man, wearing a red shirt and jacket and sporting a beard and long hair, climbed through an open window in the Leimert Park apartment complex, KTLA reports. Once inside, cameras show him moving through the living room and handling the family’s belongings.

The Johnson family told KTLA that the intruder did not appear to steal anything. “He came to the window, pulled the screen off, lifted up the window, climbed over my couch and he was walking around,” said Pazz Johnson. “I don’t know what he was doing, but it’s frightening.”
Though he didn’t take anything, the man scattered the family’s remote controls on the couch. He eventually unlocked the front door and left. The family had left the window open for airflow, and their daughter occasionally sleeps on the couch he climbed over.
The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating the incident, aided by footage showing the man’s face clearly.
The break-in left the Johnsons shaken. “It’s definitely frightening and makes you rethink some things,” Pazz said. A neighbor also described the situation as bizarre.
“That really scares me,” said Sylva Cox. “The fact that he just came in and left. It’s so weird.”
One takeaway for the family: always lock the windows. “I know I won’t leave the windows open anymore, that’s guaranteed,” added Gregory Johnson.
