Huh? Kamala Harris Responds to Trump’s State of the Union: “Full of lies… Reminds Me of Our Kids Going to Show and Tell at School”
Kamala Harris sharply criticized Donald Trump’s State of the Union address on Wednesday, calling it “full of lies” and likening parts of it to a child’s show-and-tell presentation.
Speaking in an interview with podcaster Aaron Parnas, Harris said the speech failed to reflect the challenges facing many Americans.
“I watched it — it was full of lies,” Harris said. “And when he wasn’t lying, it reminded me of our kids going to show-and-tell at school. There was nothing that was true about how so many Americans are suffering right now under the weight of high prices, unaffordable health care, and housing costs.”
Harris added that she found the address “quite boring” and repetitive, arguing that it repeated familiar claims without offering an accurate picture of current conditions.
“It was the same old, same old,” she said. “He was lying about what he intends to do, what he has done, and the state of our economy and the state of the world.”
The interview also referenced reactions to the previous year’s address by Joe Biden in March 2024. During that speech, Biden mispronounced the name of 22-year-old nursing student Laken Riley, who had been killed earlier that year. He later apologized for referring to her attacker as an “illegal.”
