911 Official: We Want Guthrie Tips, Not your Opinions!

Police in Pima County say their phone lines have been flooded with calls about the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie—but many of those calls are not providing useful information.
The county sheriff’s dispatch manager, Cecilia Ochoa, is urging the public to be more selective about what they report.
“If you’re thinking about calling in a tip or a lead, or if you have specific information regarding the case, I ask that you take a moment and think—is this tip viable, is it credible?” Ochoa told NBC News. “What we don’t want are your opinions or speculation about whether investigators are doing this or that.”
Authorities stress that credible, firsthand information is essential to advancing the investigation, while conjecture and commentary can slow response efforts and divert resources.
