“F*ck Off!” Canadian Curler Flips Out Over Cheating Accusation
Tensions flared Friday at the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics when a dispute over alleged rule-breaking disrupted a men’s curling matchup between Canada and Sweden.
The confrontation unfolded after Swedish third Oskar Eriksson accused Canadian third Marc Kennedy of improperly making contact with a stone past the hog line — an action prohibited under curling rules. Eriksson claimed Kennedy had touched the stone twice beyond the line during play.
Kennedy forcefully denied the accusation on the ice. “I haven’t done it once,” he yelled, angrily dismissing the claim. Eriksson pressed him, questioning whether he was certain, and later insisted he had video evidence to support his allegation, telling Kennedy he would present it after the match.
Despite the heated exchange, officials from World Curling reviewed the situation and reported no rule infractions. In a statement provided to Reuters, the governing body said observers detected neither hog line violations nor any illegal contact with the stones.
According to Yahoo! Sports, the controversy erupted after the ninth end of Canada’s 8–6 win. The victory kept Canada unbeaten in round-robin play, while Sweden — the reigning Olympic champion after its 2022 gold medal performance — fell to 0–3 as it attempts to defend its title.
The dispute added an unexpected layer of drama to what had otherwise been a tightly contested game on the Olympic stage.
