Australian Activist Launches Fundraiser to Move into Billie Eilish’s Mansion Following Grammys Remarks
An Australian political activist has started a crowdfunding campaign to fly to the U.S. and move into Billie Eilish’s Los Angeles mansion after the singer made headlines for her comments at the Grammy Awards.
Drew Pavlou, 24, an activist and social media influencer, criticized Eilish for what he described as virtue signaling after her anti-ICE remarks during her acceptance of Song of the Year at the 68th Grammys.
“I am flying to the USA next Friday to attempt to move into Billie Eilish’s beachside Malibu mansion,” Pavlou wrote on X on Monday, linking to a GoFundMe page. “No human being is illegal on stolen land. Support my travel and filming costs here.”

The original GoFundMe page raised $3,000 before being removed. Pavlou shared that the platform cited an inability to verify his connection to the person for whom he was raising money.
“GOFUNDME DELETED MY BILLIE EILISH FUNDRAISER THIS IS DISGUSTING AND UNFAIR,” Pavlou wrote, announcing he would try other fundraising platforms.
He soon launched a new campaign on GiveSendGo, requesting about $2,840 to fly to California and buy the “Birds of a Feather” singer’s $6 million Malibu home. Pavlou was unaware that the property, previously owned by Eilish’s brother Finneas O’Connell, was sold for $5.6 million in 2022 and destroyed in the Palisades Fire.
“This is so f–king unfair because the Malibu beachside mansion was particularly funny,” Pavlou admitted, saying he would instead use the funds to visit Eilish’s residence in Glendale.
Eilish’s Grammy acceptance speech included the message: “No one is illegal on stolen land,” followed by, “‘F–k ICE’ is what I wanna say.”

Pavlou criticized her remarks, writing, “This is an extremely radical viewpoint. She’s essentially arguing that the United States of America should be abolished – that it is an illegitimate nation due to the sins of colonization. Remarkable to see the entire audience at the Grammys stand up to applaud in furious agreement.”
He continued: “The center-left is disintegrating before our eyes – the entire entertainment industry is apparently in thrall to extremely hardline communist views that call for the abolition of the United States of America.”

Eilish’s Los Angeles property sits on ancestral Tongva land. The tribe said they hope public figures acknowledge their history when making political statements.
“Eilish has not contacted our tribe directly regarding her property, we do value the instance when public figures provide visibility to the true history of this country,” a Tongva spokesperson said. “It is our hope that in future discussions, the tribe can explicitly be referenced to ensure the public understands the greater Los Angeles Basin remains Gabrieleno Tongva territory.”

In a separate security matter, Eilish was granted a restraining order in 2023 after a man was found lurking outside her home. Raymond Black was ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from the singer.
