Sicko busted a third time for allegedly pretending to be disabled to get diaper changed

A Louisiana man has been arrested on human trafficking charges after allegedly pretending to be disabled online to lure a nanny into his home for personal care, authorities said.

Rutledge Deas IV, 35, was taken into custody Thursday after allegedly using an online nanny service to request help for someone with special needs. When the worker arrived at his Lafayette home, Deas reportedly pretended to be disabled and asked the nanny to perform duties consistent with infant care, including changing his diaper, according to Louisiana State Police.

Deas faces one count of human trafficking. This is at least the third time he has been arrested for allegedly using a similar scheme, with prior incidents in 2019 and 2021.

In 2020, Deas pleaded guilty to multiple counts of sexual battery and human trafficking for posting fake ads online, falsely claiming he was seeking home health care for his 18-year-old brother, whom he described as “mentally and physically disabled.” He was placed on probation at that time.

Authorities said Deas previously posed as his brother and received care from aides, including diaper changes. In 2021, he was arrested again after allegedly pretending to be a younger man with special needs undergoing “alternative therapy,” offering to pay a babysitter for similar services and attempting to recruit others to assist him.

He pleaded guilty to human trafficking the following year and was sentenced to 10 years in prison, with nine years suspended, followed by five years of probation. He is currently being held at Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.

Authorities are urging anyone with additional information to contact the Louisiana Special Victims Unit at 504-310-7012.
