Food thrown at Border Patrol Commander Greg Bovino
Anti-ICE protesters confronted Border Patrol Chief Greg Bovino on Wednesday at a Speedway gas station in Minnesota, as immigration enforcement operations and protests continue in and around Minneapolis.
Video shared by independent journalist Cam Higby shows a group of demonstrators surrounding Bovino and his team during a brief stop. According to Higby, approximately 20 to 30 vehicles followed the convoy for roughly two hours. Footage shows protesters yelling, honking air horns, and making obscene gestures, while agents responded with peace signs from their vehicles.
During the encounter, one individual dumped a bag of chips onto Bovino’s head and shoulders as protesters crowded around him. Several minor confrontations occurred as the group continued to follow the convoy.
Additional video appears to show Bovino and other agents being refused service at the gas station and asked to leave. A store employee can be heard telling them not to return and stating that the business does not support Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Afterward, the employee said he asked the agents to leave because he wanted to, adding that he did not care whether doing so was illegal.
The incident comes amid heightened tensions in Minnesota related to ICE operations, with ongoing demonstrations and scrutiny of state and local officials’ responses to the unrest.
