A woman told a London court that her life was saved after Barron Trump witnessed her being attacked during a FaceTime call and contacted British police from the United States.

The account was shared during proceedings at Snaresbrook Crown Court. Jurors heard that Barron received a late-night FaceTime call from the woman in the early hours of January 18 last year. During the brief call, he allegedly saw her former boyfriend, Matvei Rumianstev, assaulting her inside his apartment in east London.

Prosecutors said Rumianstev, 22, became violently jealous over the woman’s friendship with Barron Trump. After seeing the incident unfold on screen, Barron contacted UK emergency services.

At 2:23 a.m., police received a call from an American phone number reporting that a woman was being attacked and giving her address. Body-worn camera footage shown in court captured officers arriving at the scene and speaking with the distressed woman. At the time, officers told her only that someone in the United States had called for help without identifying themselves.

She later explained to police, “I am friends with Barron Trump, Donald Trump’s son.” One officer was later heard telling a colleague that the caller was likely Barron Trump, whose father was set to be inaugurated as president two days later.

Barron told the court that he initially expected a normal conversation but instead saw a ceiling, heard screaming, and briefly witnessed the woman being struck before the call abruptly ended. He estimated the call lasted between 10 and 15 seconds.

He said contacting police was the safest option, believing that intervening directly could have made the situation worse.

Giving evidence, the woman told jurors the call felt like “a sign from God” and said Barron “helped save my life.” She said the interruption created an opportunity for her to escape.

The court heard that the woman had been in a relationship with Rumianstev for about six months. She alleges he assaulted and strangled her during the incident and later accused him of two separate rapes.

Rumianstev denies all charges, including assault, rape, intentional strangulation, and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
