A Florida woman was arrested this week after allegedly assaulting state troopers during an immigration enforcement operation.
Governor Ron DeSantis addressed the incident during a press briefing, emphasizing that Florida will not tolerate violence against law enforcement officers. He made clear that actions like those seen in other parts of the country will not be excused in the Sunshine State and that there are real consequences for attacking police.
This is Jennifer Cruz of Jacksonville. Jennifer disagrees with immigration enforcement and decided to commit a few felonies by getting out of her car and punching a Trooper in the face.
But unlike Minnesota, we don’t put up with this nonsense. Not today, Jennifer. pic.twitter.com/vw28UPJ9Kn

The incident stands in contrast to how similar situations have been handled in some Democrat-led states, where critics argue that political leaders have failed to draw firm lines when it comes to law and order.
According to reporting from RedState, Florida has taken an aggressive stance on cooperating with federal authorities to remove criminal illegal immigrants from the streets. That effort includes facilities such as “Alligator Alcatraz,” a temporary detention center in the Florida Everglades where illegal immigrants are processed prior to deportation. DeSantis has repeatedly warned that disruptive or violent behavior by radical activists will not be tolerated in the state.

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier said the Jacksonville woman involved in Tuesday’s incident allegedly directed her anger over ICE enforcement at state troopers, leading to her arrest.
DeSantis commented on the situation during a press conference, stating:
“I do know there was a woman who came out and assaulted one of our troopers. Let me just tell you guys, this is not Minneapolis. That is not going to end well for you in Florida. The idea that you’re going to assault one of our troopers is unacceptable, and you are going to face consequences as a result.”
