LA perv ‘touches himself’ in open window, neighbors claim — he says they’re ‘creepy and rude’ for looking
A Sherman Oaks woman says she has spent nearly a year dealing with a disturbing situation involving a neighbor who repeatedly appears nude in full view of her apartment, leaving her family distressed and frustrated by what she describes as a lack of response from building management and authorities.
The 61-year-old woman, who asked to be identified only by her first name, Michelle, lives with her adult son in a Los Angeles apartment complex. She said the man, believed to be in his 60s or 70s, lives in a unit across from her building with large windows that face directly into her living and dining area.
Michelle said she first noticed the behavior because her own apartment features floor-to-ceiling windows, which was one of the reasons she rented the unit. During the day, she keeps the shades partially open to allow natural light inside. She claims that when she looks up, she often sees the neighbor unclothed in his apartment.
According to Michelle, the man is most frequently visible in his bedroom and regularly leaves his blinds fully open. She said there have been times when he briefly puts on clothing, only to remove it again shortly afterward.
Michelle told local media that the repeated exposure has been upsetting for her household, especially because her young granddaughters—ranging in age from 3 to 11—often visit the apartment. She and her son have shouted across the courtyard asking the man to close his blinds and stop exposing himself, and she said she has even knocked on his door in an attempt to address the issue.
The family also left a written note explaining that children visit the home and warning that police would be contacted if the behavior continued. Michelle said the neighbor responded by posting a sign outside his own apartment telling her to close her blinds and accusing her of being “creepy and rude,” while stating that 911 should only be used for emergencies.
Michelle said she has contacted the building’s management company multiple times and was told they were aware of the situation, but she claims no meaningful action has been taken. She also attempted to report the issue through a police non-emergency line but said she was placed on hold for more than an hour and eventually gave up.
She now plans to visit an LAPD station in person to file a report, saying she was unable to find an appropriate option when trying to submit a complaint online.
“This would upset anyone,” Michelle said. “You shouldn’t have to feel uncomfortable in your own home.”
