WOW: Pelosi Sounds Drunk as She Accuses Trump of Inciting an Insurrection, Claims He Refused to Send National Guard on January 6 (VIDEO)
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi spoke Tuesday at a Democrat-led “special hearing” marking the anniversary of January 6.
During her remarks, Pelosi again accused President Trump of inciting an insurrection and claimed that he refused to deploy the National Guard during the events at the U.S. Capitol.
“Today, that president who incited that insurrection continues to lie about what happened that day,” Pelosi said. “I saw on TV that he was claiming that we did not ask for the National Guard. For over three hours we begged him to send the National Guard. He never did it. He took joy in not doing it. He was savoring it. What he’s saying today is an insult to the American people.”
Critics dispute Pelosi’s claims, pointing to video footage released by the House Oversight Committee in June 2024 in which Pelosi appears to accept responsibility for Capitol security failures on January 6, 2021.
“I take responsibility,” Pelosi said in the footage.
In addition, reporting from John Solomon at Just the News in June 2024 stated that Pelosi’s top security aides received warnings about a potential breach of the Capitol the night before January 6. According to that reporting, Pelosi had the authority to request National Guard assistance but did not do so.
Other reports have also noted that both Pelosi and Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser were warned ahead of time about possible security concerns and declined offers of National Guard troops at the Capitol that day. Critics argue those decisions were politically motivated.

Further controversy surrounds the FBI’s handling of intelligence prior to January 6. Former FBI Director Chris Wray has faced criticism for the bureau’s failure to formally notify the Trump administration or Cabinet officials about the possibility of large-scale unrest, despite later claims that authorities anticipated potential violence.
Pelosi has repeatedly denied that she refused National Guard assistance. In a confrontation last year with a Lindell TV reporter, she angrily rejected the accusation.

“Shut up. I did not refuse the National Guard,” Pelosi said. “The president didn’t send it. Why are you coming here with Republican talking points as if you are a serious journalist?”
The debate over responsibility for January 6 continues, with competing narratives over who had authority over Capitol security and why additional protections were not put in place ahead of time.
