Will Smith Being Sued for Sexual Harassment by Male Violinist Who Claims He Was Subjected to Grooming, Threats, and Retaliation
Actor and entertainer Will Smith is facing a lawsuit filed by a former touring musician who alleges sexual harassment and a series of events he describes as traumatic during Smith’s global tour.
Brian King Joseph, a 33-year-old professional violinist, filed the lawsuit against Smith and his company, Treyball Studios Management, Inc., in Los Angeles County Superior Court. The complaint was submitted earlier this week.
According to the filing, Joseph claims Smith invited him to join the tour in 2024 and later engaged in behavior that Joseph alleges amounted to “grooming and priming” for further sexual exploitation.
The lawsuit states that the situation escalated in March while the tour was in Las Vegas. Joseph alleges he returned to his hotel room to find evidence of forced entry, including a note that read, “Brian, I’ll be back… just us,” signed “Stone F” with a heart.
Joseph claims the room also contained several unsettling items, including wipes, a beer bottle, a red backpack, a bottle of HIV medication bearing another person’s name, an earring, and hospital discharge paperwork belonging to someone unknown to him. Fearing for his safety and believing the individual might return, Joseph reported the incident to hotel staff.
Instead of receiving support, Joseph alleges that a member of the tour’s management team shamed him and that he was subsequently fired from the tour.
The lawsuit seeks damages for emotional distress, financial losses, reputational harm, and long-term mental health effects, including PTSD.
In a video posted to Instagram on December 26, Joseph alluded to the allegations without naming Smith, saying it is unacceptable to be “fired or blamed or shamed or threatened” for reporting sexual misconduct or safety concerns in the workplace. He described the accused as “somebody huge in the industry.”
Smith’s attorney, Allen B. Grodsky, strongly denied the claims, calling the lawsuit “false, baseless and reckless,” according to Page Six. Grodsky said the allegations are categorically denied and that his client will pursue all legal avenues to contest them.
Smith has not publicly commented on the lawsuit.
