Prince William’s 2025 Paycheck Is Out

Prince William’s most recent annual income as heir to the British throne totaled roughly $30 million, according to newly released financial records from the Duchy of Cornwall. The Duchy’s 2025 Integrated Impact Report shows a distributable surplus of about $30.9 million for the 2024–25 financial year, marking the second full year William has overseen the estate since King Charles III became monarch in 2022.

The surplus covers the official duties, charitable work, and private expenses of the prince and princess of Wales and their three children. William reportedly pays income tax on the full amount he receives after deducting certain household-related costs.

Established in 1337 to provide income for the heir apparent, the Duchy of Cornwall is a vast property portfolio spanning more than 130,000 acres across 23 counties in England and Wales. Its holdings include farmland, residential properties, and commercial assets collectively valued at more than $1 billion. William has taken an active role in managing the estate, making several visits in recent years, including a trip to Newquay to tour a Duchy-supported housing initiative aimed at reducing homelessness.

The report also highlights the expanding scope of William’s public responsibilities. During his first full year as prince of Wales, he transitioned from president to patron of England’s Football Association, assuming a role previously held by his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. He also took on new patronages with the Welsh Guards Charity, the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association, and the Victoria Cross and George Cross Association.

Meanwhile, the Duchy of Cornwall has reaffirmed its commitment to becoming a net-zero estate by 2032. Looking ahead, when William eventually becomes king, the Duchy will pass to his eldest son, Prince George, as the next heir to the throne.
