President Trump on Friday renewed his criticism of the ongoing focus on the Jeffrey Epstein files, accusing the Department of Justice of being sidetracked by what he described as a politically motivated effort by Democrats. Trump called the renewed scrutiny “just another Witch Hunt” and argued it was designed to distract from Republican accomplishments.

“The Dems are the ones who worked with Epstein, not the Republicans,” President Trump said. “Release all of their names, embarrass them, and get back to helping our Country!”

The comments marked a shift from remarks Trump made earlier in the week, when he expressed concern about the public release of photos involving individuals who, he said, may have met Epstein innocently years ago. At that time, Trump specifically defended former President Bill Clinton.

Speaking to reporters Monday at Mar-a-Lago, Trump said he had “always gotten along” with Clinton and criticized the publication of photos involving him and others. Trump suggested that Democrats, along with what he described as “a couple of bad Republicans,” were pushing for the exposure of people who had no involvement in Epstein’s crimes.

Trump also reiterated that Epstein was once present at Mar-a-Lago but said he personally removed him from the property years ago. He emphasized that Epstein had moved in elite circles and associated with many prominent figures across business, politics, and academia.

On Wednesday, the Department of Justice announced that more than one million additional Epstein-related documents had been located by the Southern District of New York and the FBI. In a statement, the DOJ said attorneys are reviewing the materials to ensure compliance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act, existing laws, and court orders, including redactions necessary to protect victims. The department said the review process could take several weeks due to the volume of material.

President Trump responded Friday by criticizing the continued focus on Epstein, arguing that it diverts attention from issues such as election integrity and Republican policy achievements.

“The Radical Left doesn’t want people talking about TRUMP & REPUBLICAN SUCCESS, only a long ago dead Jeffrey Epstein,” Trump said, again calling the situation a “Witch Hunt.”

The remarks followed a Christmas Day message posted by Trump in which he sharply criticized Democrats and Rep. Thomas Massie, accusing them of fueling what he described as a “Radical Left Witch Hunt.” In the message, Trump issued a pointed warning to Democrats who had associations with Epstein.

“Enjoy what may be your last Merry Christmas!” Trump wrote.
