Bill Clinton’s staff is calling on the Justice Department to fully release any information it has related to him in the Jeffrey Epstein files, saying transparency is necessary to avoid the appearance that certain individuals are being protected.

On Monday, Clinton spokesperson Angel Urena urged the DOJ to make public all Epstein-related documents involving the former president as the department releases records under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which was signed into law by President Trump last month, according to Politico.

“What the Department of Justice has released so far, and the manner in which it did so, makes one thing clear: someone or something is being protected,” Urena said. “We need no such protection.”

Clinton has not been accused of wrongdoing in connection with Epstein. Last Friday, the Justice Department released thousands of pages of documents and photos, including images showing Clinton with Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell, along with others whose identities were redacted. Officials withheld a significant portion of the material, citing concerns about protecting victims’ identities and safeguarding ongoing investigations.

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said additional documents will be released and emphasized that there is “no effort to hold anything back because there’s the name Donald J. Trump or anybody else’s name.”

Urena warned that if the DOJ does not release all records related to Clinton, it could appear the Trump administration is using selective disclosures to suggest wrongdoing by individuals who, he said, have already been cleared by both Republican and Democratic administrations.

Clinton has acknowledged traveling on Epstein’s plane in the 1990s but has said he was unaware of Epstein’s criminal activity at the time. Meanwhile, House Republicans have threatened to hold Clinton and former first lady Hillary Clinton in contempt if they do not comply with demands for in-person depositions as part of a congressional investigation into Epstein.
