Vice President JD Vance didn’t mince words when addressing racist attacks against his wife, Usha Vance, singling out far-right extremist Nick Fuentes and MSNBC host Jen Psaki.

“Let me be clear. Anyone who attacks my wife, whether their name is Jen Psaki or Nick Fuentes, can eat s–t,” Vance told UnHerd in an interview published Sunday. “That’s my official policy as vice president of the United States.”

Fuentes, 27, a far-right white supremacist and Holocaust denier, has repeatedly targeted Usha Vance with hateful remarks, calling Vance a “race traitor” for being married to the daughter of Indian immigrants. “Who is this guy, really? Do we really expect that the guy who has an Indian wife and named their kid Vivek is going to support white identity?” Fuentes said after Vance was announced as President Trump’s running mate.

On the other side of the political spectrum, Psaki, who served as President Biden’s press secretary, drew criticism for comments she made last October suggesting Usha Vance needed to be “rescued” from her husband. “I always wonder what’s going on in the mind of [Vance’s] wife. Like, are you OK? Please blink four times. Come over here. We’ll save you,” Psaki said on the I’ve Had It podcast.

Vance also condemned antisemitism and all forms of racism, drawing a clear line on what he considers unacceptable behavior within the conservative movement. “Antisemitism and all forms of ethnic hatred have no place in the conservative movement,” he said. “Whether you’re attacking somebody because they’re white or because they’re black or because they’re Jewish, I think it’s disgusting.”

His remarks came just hours after Vance appeared at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest, where he criticized conservatives for publicly targeting others in their own party. “President Trump did not build the greatest coalition in politics by running his supporters through endless, self-defeated purity tests,” Vance said. “I didn’t bring a list of conservatives to denounce or to deplatform. Let me just say the best way to honor Charlie is that none of us here should be doing something after Charlie’s death that he himself refused to do in life.”

Observers noted that his comments appeared to take a subtle aim at conservative podcaster Ben Shapiro, who recently criticized fellow right-wing figures Candace Owens and Tucker Carlson. Carlson, meanwhile, was named StopAntisemitism’s 2025 Antisemite of the Year following his controversial interview with Fuentes.
