The U.S. Department of Justice released a new batch of documents on Friday related to the sex-trafficking cases of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, drawing renewed public attention to the long-running scandal.
Posted to the DOJ’s website under what it calls the “Epstein Library,” the newly released materials include photographs that had not previously been made public. Several of the images spread rapidly across social media shortly after their release.
Among them are photographs appearing to show former President Bill Clinton in a hot tub and swimming with an unidentified woman. The woman’s face is heavily redacted, suggesting she may be a trafficking victim or a minor.
Another image that circulated widely online shows a sweatshirt bearing the logo of the Israel Defense Forces reportedly found among Epstein’s belongings. The sweatshirt has drawn renewed scrutiny following earlier reporting by The Telegraph.
In an August interview on The Telegraph podcast The Daily T, Epstein’s former attorney Alan Dershowitz told host Tim Stanley that Epstein personally purchased the IDF sweatshirt during a visit to Israel. Dershowitz said the purchase occurred while the two were walking through Jerusalem’s Mahane Yehuda market.

“I was literally with him when he bought that T-shirt,” Dershowitz said. He described arranging a lunch for Epstein with prominent Israeli intellectuals, including a Supreme Court justice, during what he characterized as a brief visit to the country.
The comments followed The Telegraph’s publication of a 2019 photograph showing Epstein aboard his private jet wearing an IDF sweatshirt. The image, provided exclusively to the outlet, may be among the last known photos taken of Epstein before his death.
The renewed attention has also revived debate over Epstein’s alleged connections to intelligence agencies. Earlier this year, conservative commentator Tucker Carlson publicly questioned whether Epstein’s wealth, access, and legal protection could be explained without intelligence involvement. Carlson suggested that possible foreign government connections, including Israel, have been treated as taboo topics in public discussion.
“There is nothing hateful or anti-Semitic about asking these questions,” Carlson said, emphasizing that his comments were directed at governments and intelligence services, not people or religion.
I think this is the last known photo of Epstein before he was arrested on his private jet in 2019.

Former CIA officer and whistleblower John Kiriakou has likewise said Epstein exhibited characteristics consistent with an intelligence asset. Dershowitz has also acknowledged that it is possible Epstein was exploited by Israeli intelligence, though he has said he has no direct knowledge of such a relationship.
Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett strongly rejected those claims, calling them false and defamatory. In a social media post, Bennett wrote that Epstein “never worked for the Mossad” and said allegations tying Israel to Epstein’s crimes were “categorically and totally false.”
“These accusations are lies being spread by prominent online personalities,” Bennett wrote, adding that they contribute to what he described as a broader wave of slander against Israel.

Journalist and former Fox News host Megyn Kelly has pushed back on Bennett’s denial, pointing to statements made by Alex Acosta, who served as U.S. Secretary of Labor under President Trump. Acosta previously oversaw Epstein’s controversial plea deal while serving as U.S. Attorney in Florida.
Kelly noted that Acosta reportedly told members of the Trump transition team that Epstein “belonged to intelligence” and that he had been instructed to “leave it alone.” According to Kelly, if Epstein was connected to intelligence services, the most plausible candidates would have been the United States or Israel, both of which deny any involvement.
Acosta later told the DOJ’s Office of Professional Responsibility that he had no information indicating Epstein was an intelligence asset, a statement that appeared to conflict with earlier reporting. The DOJ approved Epstein’s plea deal, leading some critics to question whether the department’s internal review fully resolved the contradictions surrounding Acosta’s account.
The newly released DOJ materials are expected to fuel further debate and investigation as public interest in the Epstein case continues to intensify.
