A livestream hosted by a YouTube content creator discussing investments briefly appeared on a White House website, prompting questions about whether the site had been compromised. The video showed up late Thursday on whitehouse.gov/live, a page normally used to stream live appearances by President Trump. The unexpected stream remained visible for at least eight minutes.

It remains unclear whether the website was hacked or if the video was mistakenly linked by someone within the government, according to the Associated Press. In a statement, the White House said it was “aware of the issue and looking into what happened.”

The video featured part of a more than two-hour livestream by Matt Farley, known online as @RealMattMoney, during which he answered personal finance and investment questions. Farley told the AP on Friday that he had no involvement in the incident and was surprised by the exposure. He joked that if he had known his stream would appear on such a high-profile platform, he would have dressed more formally and chosen different discussion topics.

The incident comes amid a series of digital security issues involving President Trump’s administration and campaign over the past year. In May, officials launched an investigation after lawmakers, business leaders, and other high-profile individuals received calls and text messages from someone impersonating Susie Wiles, the president’s chief of staff. Last year, Trump’s campaign was also targeted in a cyberattack attributed to Iran, which resulted in the theft and release of internal documents, including a dossier on Vice President JD Vance created before he was selected as Trump’s running mate.
