It was an unexpected midweek shock for attendees at a Christmas celebration in Houston.
A viral video circulating online shows a camel forcefully kicking a woman during a holiday performance at a Texas megachurch. The incident occurred during the “Christmas Spectacular” at Champion Forest Baptist Church, which featured a live nativity scene complete with real animals.
The clip, which has surpassed one million views on social media, shows a large camel being led down the church aisle as part of the procession. As the animal passed seated audience members, it suddenly lashed out with its hind leg, striking a woman who was sitting near the aisle.
The woman appeared to be hit in the face and was knocked unconscious by the impact, prompting nearby churchgoers to rush to her aid. Moments later, a second camel continued down the aisle alongside costumed performers, following closely behind the first animal.

According to Click2Houston, the woman was transported to a hospital for treatment and has since been released.
In a statement to NBC News, church communications director Steven Miori said, “An unexpected incident occurred when a camel used in the production struck a guest in the audience.” He added that the church responded immediately, emergency services were called, and staff have remained in contact with the woman’s family.
Champion Forest Baptist Church did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
