NYC teacher arrested after allegedly slapping 16-year-old student in the buttocks
A 60-year-old Bronx high school teacher was arrested for allegedly slapping the buttocks of a 16-year-old male student, authorities and sources said.
Kiho Kim, an instructor at a school on East 151st Street in the South Bronx, was taken into custody Monday afternoon for touching the teen inappropriately, according to the NYPD and sources.
Kim taught at the Bronx Design and Construction Academy, a technical education public school, and is still listed on the school’s faculty roster, News12 reported.

He faces charges of sexual abuse and forcible touching in connection with the incident, police said.
A spokesperson for the New York City Department of Education stated that Kim is “being removed from the school community” due to his “unacceptable” behavior.
“This alleged behavior is unacceptable, and the safety of our students is our top priority. This individual is being removed from the school community, and if convicted, we will pursue termination,” the spokesperson said.
As of Tuesday evening, Kim was awaiting arraignment in Bronx Criminal Court.
