Trump Gets a Peace Prize

President Trump and his supporters had hoped he would secure a Nobel Prize this year, but instead he will have to settle for recognition from FIFA. On Friday, the world soccer organization awarded him its inaugural Peace Prize, according to USA Today. Trump’s selection had been widely expected, as FIFA created the award shortly after the 2025 Nobel committee decided against choosing the American leader.
“This is truly one of the great honors of my life,” Trump said while accepting the prize during the World Cup draw in Washington, per the BBC. “We saved millions of lives,” he added, repeating his claim of helping to end several conflicts around the globe.
