An Uber driver in Kentucky has been accused of raping a passenger who passed out while on a ride home from a party, according to police.

Clifford E. Partin, 61, picked up the woman in Richmond in August after she became too intoxicated to drive, according to an arrest report obtained by the Lexington Herald-Leader.

The woman reportedly passed out shortly after the ride began. Police say Partin then drove to a secluded area concealed by bushes, where he allegedly assaulted her while she was unconscious. The passenger told authorities she regained consciousness in a parking lot and demanded to be taken home. Fearing for her safety, she asked to be dropped off nearby and ran the rest of the way.

The victim later sought medical attention and reported the incident to police. Authorities said Uber GPS data corroborated her account, and surveillance footage showed the vehicle parked in the lot for roughly 25 minutes. Partin agreed to take a polygraph test and eventually admitted to the assault, police said.

He faces charges of first-degree rape and first-degree sodomy of a person incapable of consent.

Partin was booked at the Madison County Detention Center on Monday and is being held on a $100,000 bond.
