MUSKOGEE, OK — A deeply troubling case has emerged in Muskogee after an 11-year-old girl gave birth at home, leading to the arrest of her mother and stepfather. Authorities say DNA testing confirmed with 99.9% certainty that the stepfather, Dustin Walker, is the father of the newborn.
Investigators reported that the girl delivered the baby unexpectedly at home, and her mother, Sheree Walker, along with Dustin Walker, claimed they were unaware she was pregnant. Both were taken into custody following the birth.
Assistant District Attorney Janet Hudson underscored the seriousness of the allegations, emphasizing that a child of such a young age cannot legally consent. The situation has drawn national attention and left the local community stunned.
A woman identifying herself as the girl’s grandmother spoke anonymously, expressing deep sorrow and disbelief about the ordeal.
Dustin Walker faces multiple charges, including child abuse and neglect involving six children. Sheree Walker is charged with enabling the abuse and neglect.
Hudson noted the significant trauma the young victim has endured, stating that her office is fully committed to pursuing justice. Community members have responded with anger and concern, rallying around the child and calling for stronger protections for vulnerable children.
As the investigation continues, both Walkers remain in custody. Authorities say ensuring the safety and well-being of the children involved is their highest priority.
