Hundreds of Airline Catering Workers Block Entrance Near LAX on One of the Busiest Travel Days of the Year (VIDEO)

Hundreds of airline catering workers brought traffic to a standstill near Los Angeles International Airport on one of the busiest travel days of the year.

According to Fox 11, demonstrations unfolded along Century Boulevard and outside LAX’s main pickup and drop-off areas.

Union leaders representing the LAX catering workers say the protest was aimed at pressuring Flying Food Group, accusing the company of forcing employees to work under unsafe conditions. Workers also pointed to previous citations issued to the company involving safety and minimum-wage violations.

At one point, protesters moved into the street and blocked traffic. A frustrated traveler attempting to reach the airport pleaded with them as they obstructed her vehicle.

“I’m going to miss my flight! I’m flying to Europe!” the woman shouted before Los Angeles Police officers arrived to restore order and clear the intersection.

Authorities have not said whether any arrests were made.
