Erika Kirk, CEO of Turning Point USA, revealed in a recent interview that she had been “praying to God” she was pregnant when her husband, conservative activist Charlie Kirk, was tragically killed in September.
“We wanted to have four,” Erika Kirk told The Megyn Kelly Show, in an episode set to air Monday. “And I was praying to God that I was pregnant when he got murdered. I thought, ‘Oh, goodness, that would have been the ultimate blessing out of this catastrophe.’”
The couple, who share a young daughter and son, were looking forward to expanding their family before Charlie Kirk was shot on September 10 during a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University.

Reflecting on her experience, Erika Kirk urged young couples not to delay having children. “Especially if you’re a young woman, don’t put it off. You can always have a career, you can always go back to work. You can never just go back to having children. They grow so fast and so quickly,” she said.
Erika Kirk, a former Miss Arizona USA, married Charlie Kirk in May 2021. Following his death, she was appointed to lead Turning Point USA.
If you want, I can also make a slightly more emotional, narrative-driven version that emphasizes the personal and human side of the story, which might read more like a feature than straight news. Do you want me to do that?
