A Texas mother is calling for arrests after shocking video surfaced showing two teachers allegedly abusing her 5-year-old son with autism, leaving the child with a broken foot.
Guadalupe Rodriguez’s non-verbal son was at Wild Peach Elementary School in Brazoria when video obtained by KHOU shows an adult picking up the boy and harshly dropping him onto the floor. The child landed on his feet but then fell on his back as he tried to crawl away.
“This is trauma that my son and I will carry forever,” Rodriguez told KHOU. “I dropped to my knees and cried because I wasn’t expecting to see my son be treated in such a manner.”
Rodriguez reviewed additional footage from Oct. 30, the day her son sustained the injury. The recordings reportedly show multiple teachers engaging in potentially abusive behavior. In one clip, the same educator is seen picking up the boy and dropping him an hour earlier, then pushing him down and walking away. Another teacher was recorded trying to make the child walk on his injured foot, kicking his ailing ankle in the process.
“My son was showing signs of distress, and not one teacher stopped to assess him,” Rodriguez said. “Nobody cared.”
The Columbia-Brazoria Independent School District confirmed that the two teachers involved have been fired. The district also reported the incident to several agencies, including the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.

“Now that the parents of the student have met with administration, I am writing to inform you that a campus investigation involving a student injury at Wild Peach Elementary is still in progress,” Principal Anne Cohea wrote in a Nov. 7 letter obtained by KHOU. “At current, the investigation has determined two educational support staff members acted inappropriately by not following the provided training and guidance. The safety and well-being of our students are of the utmost importance. This behavior is unacceptable and does not reflect the standards, expectations or values of Wild Peach Elementary.”
Despite the firings, Rodriguez remains frustrated that no criminal charges have been filed. “Part of me is relieved, but I’m not satisfied with the way they’re handling this at all,” she said. “Neither of them are behind bars. They’re still walking free.”
