Oversight Dems Release New Epstein Emails That Mention “Trump” – Instantly Backfires on Them!

WASHINGTON — The House Democrats’ Committee on Oversight on Wednesday morning released what it described as a “tranche of correspondence” from the Epstein Estate, claiming the documents “strike a blow against the White House’s Epstein cover-up.”

The release included three unrelated emails dated between 2011 and 2019.

In a statement to FOX News Digital, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said, “The Democrats selectively leaked emails to the liberal media to create a fake narrative to smear President Trump.”

Email 1: “The Dog That Hasn’t Barked”

The first email, dated April 2, 2011, shows Jeffrey Epstein writing to Ghislaine Maxwell:

“i want you to realize that that dog that hasn’t barked is trump.. [REDACTED VICTIM] spent hours at my house with him ,, he has never once been mentioned. police chief. etc. im 75% there”

Maxwell replied nearly five hours later, “I have been thinking about that…”

The redacted name, according to the House GOP Oversight Committee, belongs to Virginia Giuffre—who, according to reports, died by suicide in April 2025.

Republican members of the committee accused Democrats of intentionally concealing Giuffre’s name in the document, noting that the Epstein Estate’s version did not redact it. “It’s because the victim, Virginia Giuffre, publicly stated that she never witnessed wrongdoing by President Trump,” one member said.

In her sworn testimony during litigation against Epstein, Giuffre said that President Trump “didn’t partake in any sex with us” and that “Donald Trump never flirted with me.”

Analysts have noted that Epstein’s phrase “the dog that hasn’t barked,” a reference to a Sherlock Holmes story, suggests suspicion over someone’s silence being significant. Epstein’s mention that Trump “has never once been mentioned” by law enforcement could indicate that Epstein believed Trump might be an informant—a “dog that didn’t bark.”

Attorney Bradley Edwards, who represented Giuffre, previously said President Trump was “the only person” who voluntarily spoke with him about Epstein in 2009, providing helpful information without any sign of involvement in wrongdoing.

“He was the only person who picked up the phone and said, ‘Let’s just talk. I’ll tell you what you need to know,’” Edwards said in an interview. “He was very helpful and gave good information that checked out.”

House Speaker Mike Johnson recently suggested President Trump “was an FBI informant to try to take this stuff down,” later clarifying that he was referencing Edwards’ 2018 comments, though Edwards never specifically mentioned the FBI.

Emails 2 and 3: Epstein’s Exchanges with Michael Wolff

The second and third emails involve author Michael Wolff. In one message dated January 31, 2019, Epstein wrote:

“[REDACTED VICTIM] mara lago. [REDACTED SENTENCE]. trump said he asked me to resign, never a member ever. of course he knew about the girls as he asked ghislaine to stop —”

Previous reports have indicated Epstein was barred from Mar-a-Lago years earlier. The new phrasing—“asked me to resign”—appears to differ slightly from earlier descriptions that he was “banned.”

The third email, from December 15, 2015, shows Wolff warning Epstein that then-candidate Trump might be asked about his relationship with him during a GOP debate. Epstein responded, “if we were able to craft an answer for him, what do you think it should be?”

Wolff replied:

“I think you should let him hang himself. If he says he hasn’t been on the plane or to the house, then that gives you a valuable PR and political currency… or, if it really looks like he could win, you could save him, generating a debt.”

Nearly a year later, just before the 2016 election, Wolff emailed Epstein again about an unspecified “opportunity” to “help finish [Trump].” The context of that message remains unclear.

Critics have called the exchanges troubling, suggesting that Wolff—a journalist and author—was discussing how to use his relationship with Epstein to manipulate public perception of Trump.

Democrats and Republicans Clash Over Intent and Meaning

Ranking Member Robert Garcia (D-CA) said the newly released emails “raise glaring questions about what else the White House is hiding and the nature of the relationship between Epstein and the President.”

Republicans, meanwhile, argue that the emails do the opposite—showing no wrongdoing by President Trump while raising questions about why Giuffre’s name was redacted and why Wolff appeared to conspire with Epstein to “collect political currency.”

The White House has called the release a politically motivated attempt to revive discredited narratives.
