BREAKING: Two Suspects Identified in Derailed Michigan Halloween Terror Plot
Dearborn, Michigan — The FBI successfully thwarted a planned terrorist attack over Halloween weekend, arresting multiple suspects believed to be connected to ISIS, officials confirmed last week.
“This morning the FBI thwarted a potential terrorist attack and arrested multiple subjects in Michigan who were allegedly plotting a violent attack over Halloween weekend,” said FBI Director Kash Patel.
According to Fox News, the disrupted plot was ISIS-inspired and aimed to carry out a mass shooting dubbed “Operation Pumpkin” in the Detroit area.
On Monday, authorities identified two suspects: Mohmed Ali, of Dearborn, Michigan, and Majed Mahmoud. The FBI affidavit alleges that the men had been practicing at local shooting ranges and preparing for the planned assault.
Court documents reveal that the pair were charged with receiving, transferring, and attempting to receive and transfer firearms while having reasonable cause to believe the weapons would be used to commit terrorism.

Investigators said Ali practiced with Mahmoud, a juvenile referred to as “Person 1” under the alias Athari, and another unnamed individual listed as “Co-conspirator 4.”
The arrests came after one suspect’s attorney insisted there was no plot and that no charges were expected. However, video footage posted online shows FBI agents detaining several individuals believed to be planning the attack.
“Two Michigan men planned an ISIS-inspired Halloween terror attack near Detroit — stockpiling weapons, scouting targets, and training at gun ranges,” Patel stated.
Following the arrests, MSNBC criticized Patel’s decision to publicly confirm the terror plot before all details were finalized.

According to a leaked report obtained by MSNBC, “Senior Justice Department and FBI officials expressed frustration Friday that FBI Director Kash Patel publicly disclosed an investigation into what he called a ‘potential’ Halloween weekend terrorist plot near Detroit — before investigators had a chance to flesh out key details.”
Unnamed sources claimed Patel “acted hastily” without Main Justice’s prior approval, allegedly to give public credit to the FBI. MSNBC noted that it withheld the names of its sources due to concerns about possible retaliation.
The investigation remains ongoing, with additional suspects under review.
