FBI Arrests Active Duty U.S. Marine For Allegedly Kidnapping 12-Year-Old Girl He Met on TikTok

The FBI announced that an active-duty U.S. Marine has been arrested for allegedly kidnapping a 12-year-old girl from Indiana.
According to an FBI press release, 24-year-old William Roy, stationed at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina, reportedly flew to Chicago to meet the young girl at a park.
Authorities say Roy then took the child to a hotel, where they spent the night.
He now faces federal charges of enticing and transporting a minor across state lines for illicit activity, as well as interstate travel with intent to engage in sexual conduct with a minor.

An active-duty U.S. Marine has been arrested after allegedly traveling from North Carolina to Indiana to meet, abduct, and assault a 12-year-old girl from Hammond, Indiana.
According to the FBI’s Indianapolis Field Office, 24-year-old William Richard Roy of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, was taken into custody on October 26, 2025, in Durham, North Carolina, by agents from the FBI Charlotte Field Office’s Greensboro and Raleigh Resident Agencies. The child was safely recovered.
The investigation began on October 25, when the FBI’s Merrillville Resident Agency received a report from the Hammond Police Department regarding a missing 12-year-old girl, whose grandmother had reported her disappearance earlier that day.
Authorities say Roy allegedly flew to Chicago on October 24, took an Uber to Hammond to meet the child at a park, then returned to Chicago by Uber, stayed overnight at a hotel, and boarded a Greyhound bus bound for Durham, North Carolina.
The arrest of Roy is the second involving a Marine stationed at Camp Lejeune in recent months. In February, Lance Cpl. Zayne Melton, 22, was arrested and charged with alleged statutory rape of a child under 15 and a statutory sex offense with a child.
The FBI, Hammond Police Department, and U.S. Marshals Service coordinated efforts that led to Roy’s arrest. Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing.
