CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A 21-year-old employee at a Little Caesars in Charleston is facing charges after allegedly shooting a man through the restaurant’s drive-thru window while on the clock.

Jahtique Farmer has been charged with malicious wounding, according to records from the West Virginia Regional Jail and Correctional Facility. The incident occurred Thursday evening at the Little Caesars on Patrick Street Plaza.

Court documents reviewed by local NBC affiliate WSAZ indicate that Farmer had stepped outside the restaurant with a co-worker when they noticed a man standing near the drive-thru window, reportedly staring at Farmer. The employee said this visibly upset Farmer.

Authorities say the co-worker retrieved a gun from Farmer’s vehicle glove compartment and handed it to him before they returned to the restaurant. Farmer then allegedly approached the drive-thru window and yelled at the man, who was sitting in his parked car, saying, “You want to kill me,” before firing three shots through the window.

The victim was struck in the lower face and near the left rib cage. He reportedly drove himself to a hospital and was listed in stable condition.

Farmer was arrested the next day and booked into the South Central Regional Jail. It remains unclear whether the suspect and victim knew each other.

He is currently in the custody of the West Virginia Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
