Woman flung man off her car, dragged him 300 feet

WESTERVILLE, Ohio — A 34-year-old Ohio woman is in custody after authorities say she killed a man following a minor traffic incident in a grocery store parking lot.

Danielle Henry is being held without bail at the James Carnes Corrections Center on multiple charges, including aggravated vehicular homicide and involuntary manslaughter.

According to court records obtained by WBNS, Henry was involved in a minor accident on Oct. 22 with Ibrahim Diakite in a Kroger parking lot in Westerville, a northeastern suburb of Columbus. Police say Henry fled the scene, and Diakite pursued her to confront her.

Authorities report that the confrontation escalated near a nearby intersection. Diakite allegedly got out of his vehicle and climbed onto the hood of Henry’s car as she attempted to leave. While Diakite was on the hood, police say Henry accelerated to 45 mph, throwing him onto the road. He was then reportedly struck and dragged 300 to 600 feet.

Diakite was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Henry was arrested on Saturday and faces charges including hit-and-run on private property, failure to comply with a police order, and seven additional misdemeanor charges. She was arraigned Monday, and her next court date is scheduled for Nov. 4.
