A Palestinian refugee living in Montreal has faced widespread backlash after posting an expletive-filled rant on social media attacking “white people” and “westerners” over Halloween decorations in her neighborhood.
Samar “Summer” Alkhdour filmed herself reacting angrily to a local home’s spooky display, which featured fake severed limbs and a bloodied head.
“I just want to ask, is this ok? Is this how holidays look like?” she said in the viral video. “Is this f—ing ok? What’s the fun about it? What is civilized about it? What is holiday about it?”

The outburst escalated as Alkhdour added, “F–k you all. F–k you, white people. F–k you, westerners… I don’t know what to say, like, f–k everyone.”
Alkhdour, known for her outspoken pro-Palestinian activism, was immediately criticized online for her comments, with many accusing her of disrespecting the country that gave her refuge.
“Samar Alkhdour is a Palestinian refugee living in Montreal who recently brought her family from Gaza. She’s now saying ‘f–k you white people’ and ‘f–k you westerners’ because of Halloween decorations,” one user wrote on X.

Others called her remarks ungrateful and divisive. “People who come to Canada seeking safety should at least respect the country that took them in,” one critic posted, while another added, “You don’t have to love every tradition, but cursing the society that shelters you shows contempt for the values that gave you refuge.”
In response to the online backlash, Alkhdour shared screenshots of the angry messages she received, doubling down on her stance through her Instagram stories.

Alkhdour, who lives in Montreal with her husband and two children, has been an active participant in anti-Israel demonstrations across Canada. She was previously charged, along with two others, with criminal harassment for allegedly targeting politician Marc Miller during a protest outside his campaign office in September of last year.
